Job Description Position Summary: The Student Nurse OR Tech will aid the Operating Room team members prior, during, and after surgical procedures. The main functions of this position will include transporting patients/specimens; obtaining supplies/laboratory products; opening supplies, and maintaining a clean environment within the department.
Education, License, & Cert: - High School Diploma or GED required
- Currently enrolled in a RN or LPN nursing program
- Certified in Basic CPR within 6 months of hire
Experience: No Experience Required. School Education: High School Grad or Equivalent
Essential Functions: - Transporting patients and lab products/specimens to and from the Operating Room (OR)
- Protects patient privacy and modesty; is authorized to access secured storage areas in the performance of essential job functions and duties
- OR equipment/supplies transportation; transports specimens, cafeteria supplies, blood, and other items as assigned
- Maintaining supplies and equipment Is authorized to access secured storage areas in the performance of essential job functions and duties
- Restock warmers with solutions and blankets, stock forms and count sheets, etc
- Assists in preparing case carts for procedures
- Opening sterile supplies in preparation for procedures
- Responsible for accurate and clear communication to other members of the health care
- team when giving reports
- Uses the appropriate chemicals, supplies, or equipment when needed
- Decontaminate operating room after surgical cases
- Maintains an acceptable level of cleanliness for all anesthesia and OR equipment
Other Duties: - Demonstrates initiative in completing work that needs to be done, within areas of responsibility

- Recognizes and reports potential problems to the supervisor or nursing manager on the floor
Payrate: $16 to $22.37
